Saccarappa's Student Council has organized a School Spirit Week! Monday is Sports Day, so all students and staff are invited to wear their favorite jersey, uniform, or anything sports-related. Since Monday is also Earth Day, anything outdoor-related is fine as well. Let's show our school spirit!

The Mad Science family event has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 24th, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. This performance will be in the Westbrook High School Auditorium. We hope to see you all there!

The Saccarappa Art Show will be on display during conferences from April 8th through 23rd. The open viewing date has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 23rd. We hope to see you all then!

Congratulations to the Westbrook College Knowledge teams for tying for first place in the state championship at Bowdoin College. A fire alarm ended the competition early, but since Saccarappa, Congin, and Canal were the top three schools prior to the alarm, they decided to call it a three-way tie. A special congratulations to Saccarappa's Golden Diamonds team for having a perfect score going into the final round. Well done, students. We're proud of you!

The district is hosting a free presentation by Mad Science for all Westbrook families on April 3rd from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. We hope to see you all there!

Come see student artwork and the 4th Grade Local Stories Project mural on Thursday, April 4th, from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. The artwork will be on display throughout family-teacher conferences, so be sure to check it out when you are in the building.
In addition to meeting with your child's classroom teacher and checking out the art show, you are welcome to visit STEAM, Music, PE, and Library during conferences on the following dates.
April 4th - Physical Education and Music from 3:30-7:00 p.m.
April 8th - Library and STEAM from 3:30-7:00 p.m.
April 11th - All Unified Arts from 12:00-3:00 p.m.

We finished Staff Spirit Week with Neon Day! Don't worry, students. Your turn is coming soon. The student council is finalizing plans for a whole-school spirit week starting April 8th. Stay tuned.

It's been a Staff Only Spirit Week at Saccarappa, but the staff and students have had a blast! Each day, the staff coordinates their outfits, and the students guess the theme. We've had Dress Like the Students Day, College Day, and Stripes. We can't wait to see what tomorrow will be!

Students versus Teachers! The Saccarappa College Knowledge teams took on the fourth-grade teachers yesterday, and the students won! Next up is the State Championship at Bowdoin College. Good luck, Shining Stars!

As of this afternoon, roads have mostly been cleared, the power is back on at Congin, and power is on track to be restored in that part of the city this evening. That means that schools will be open tomorrow! If anything changes, I will notify you in the morning. Otherwise, we can plan on a regular day at all schools. This includes the PreK program, Adult Education, and the LEARNS before and after school program at the Community Center.
Thank you to our Public Works crews and power company workers who have been hard at work all weekend.
I hope your power has been restored and that you have a great evening.

Congratulations to the Canal, Congin, and Saccarappa College Knowledge teams for an impressive competition today at the Performing Arts Center. Well done, students!

The district is hosting a free demonstration by Mad Science for all Westbrook families on April 3rd from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. We hope to see you all there.

Cupid has done it again! A small group of anonymous community members have once again decorated Saccarappa for Valentine's Day. The students and staff were amazed by the decorations and appreciated the beautiful display of love and support. Thank you, Cupid!

Thank you to all of the volunteers who made this year's Valentine's Day Breakfast a success and to all of those who attended. A wonderful time was had by all.
