It was a day full of celebrations at Saccarappa! This morning, we cheered for the Graduating Class of 2024 as they paraded through the school. Then, we celebrated Safe, Ready, and Respectful behavior with a whole school choice day! There are a lot of accomplishments to celebrate this time of year, and we are enjoying every minute.







Don't forget to vote! Voting for the School Budget Referendum is on Tuesday, June 11th. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.


Special delivery! Saccarappa's Cheer Club received a large box of pom-poms today from the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders! Mrs. Cammack reached out to a few professional cheer teams to see about getting Pom-poms donated and the Cowboys were quick to support. There are a few more Dallas fans in New England tonight! Also, thank you to everyone who donated towards the cheer team's t-shirts. They are excited to show off their new gear and routine at the upcoming end of year BBQ!



It was a beautiful day for a run! Today, more than 50 participants participated in the Running with the Stars 5K. Congratulations to Arlo for winning first place and Ms. McGuire for coming in second. Also, congratulations to all of the students who participated in Running Club this year and worked their way up to this accomplishment.






Be sure to cheer on the College Knowledge Team in the Westbrook Together Days parade this morning!


The Bookmobile will be back this summer! Catch it every Monday from June 24th through August 12th throughout Westbrook. See the attached flyer for more information.


Reminder: All K-8 students and families are invited to a presentation by renowned children's and young adult author Hena Khan this evening at 5:30 at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center. There will be refreshments, discounted book sales with books signed by the author, free books and learning activities, and fresh food for take home provided by the Locker Project. Hope to see you there!


It's time to order Saccarappa's 2023-2024 yearbook! Yearbooks are $10, and all orders are due by June 7th. Fourth-grade students should NOT order a yearbook. The PTO will provide yearbooks to all fourth-grade students as an end-of-year gift.


Thank you to Dr. Kelly and Mr. Brunner for putting on a fun and informative bike safety presentation for our third grade students yesterday. Also, thank you to the Kiwanis Club for donating over twenty helmets to our students.

Westbrook's Fourth-Grade Bees were today, and WOW, the students made us proud! Congratulations to everyone who participated. Saccarappa brought home the first-place trophy for Spelling, Canal earned first place for Math, and Congin earned first place for Geometry. It was such a fun event with a room full of spectacular kids. Well done, fourth graders!


The students are learning about the upcoming Olympics during library. Ms. Evan's class drew flags of various countries and even designed some of their own.


After studying the caterpillar's life cycle, Ms. Tardif's students enjoyed watching their butterflies fly away last week.



Saccarappa's Garden Club will be selling their seedlings on Saturday, May 18th, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Start your own garden while supporting ours! We hope to see you there!

May 6th through May 10th is Teacher Appreciation Week. Help us celebrate all of the amazing educators and staff members at Saccarappa School by participating in the following activities. Check your child's backpack for more information.
Monday - Bring a real or drawn flower for a staff member
Tuesday- Wear your teacher's favorite color
Wednesday- Give a staff member an award
Thursday- Draw a picture of you and a favorite staff member
Friday- Complete the survey




Thank you to the Masons at the Saccarappa Lodge for sponsoring the Bikes for Books program. Ten lucky students went home with new bikes and helmets thanks to this very generous donation. There were 419 submissions throughout the school, which totals 2,095 books or 41,900 pages read! Well done, students, and congratulations to our winners.

Join the PTO at Saccarappa on Friday, May 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. for Movie Night! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a refillable water bottle and a blanket to sit on.


Just a reminder… come to the Mad Science event this evening at 5:30pm at the Westbrook High School Auditorium. The presentation is about Space Science. There will be free books for all! This is a free event for families!
