4th grade cougars are doing a project through Sole Hope to benefit the children of Uganda who are in need of shoes to prevent infection and pain caused by jiggers.
In order to complete this project, they need your help! Students are in need of non-skinny, non-stretch, adult sized jeans. Your jeans will end up becoming shoes! If you have any jeans that you would be willing to donate, please send them to school with your child! They can deliver them to the office.

We are excited to announce Bikes for Books, thanks to the Saccarappa Mason's Lodge! Students are encouraged to read 100 pages or 10 books. Once they do so, they can fill out a form and turn into the office by April 22nd to be entered to win a bike! We are excited to see all of our Cougars reading for this awesome opportunity.
Congin Cougars are brave! Check out these fourth grade students from Mrs. Pecoraro’s class who have been learning with Mrs. Powers about Sole Hope, an organization committed to fighting foot diseases in East Africa.
These students presented to the Congin PTO in hopes to fund a shoe making project to then donate to Sole Hope. Nice work, fourth graders!

Because power has not yet been restored at Saccarappa School, there is NO SCHOOL today at Saccarappa. At all other schools, we will have a 2 hour delayed start. That means that schools will open two hours after their regular opening and buses will pick up students 2 hours later than their usual times. This will give crews time to address road conditions and power outages, and extra time to get to work and school. There are no PK classes. Breakfast will be available when students arrive.
Don't forget that we have a spirit week this week!

Take a look at Mrs. Rounds's third grade cougars! In math, students were working to break down and measure 1L into 100mL! Students were working hard and were collaborating with their classmates.
Kindergarten Cougars got to go to the Festival of Trees in Westbrook to see all of the trees that local organizations and business decorated! They even got a surprise visit from Dr. Lancia who read "The Gingerbread Man" to our cougars!
Our Congin Den Ambassadors got to load up the Locker Project van with the 4,250 snacks that were donated from our empathy snack drive with Ms. Lauren and Mr. Bisson!

The Secure Status at Congin School has been lifted and all regular activities are resuming. Students and staff were kept safely in school while police investigated a report of gunshots in the woods behind the school. Police searched the area around the school and concluded that the it was safe. Thank you to our students, staff, and Westbrook Police for your outstanding and swift response.
Congin School is currently in a secure status because of a potential situation in the woods behind the school. All students and staff are safe inside the school. Westbrook Police are on site and investigating. We will send more information as soon we can.
