As part of the Maine DOE #ReadtoME Challenge this month, Maine DOE Director of Communications Chloe Teboe and Director of Special Projects Melissa O’Neal-Low had a wonderful time visiting Mrs. Pecoraro’s 4th-grade class at Congin School in the Westbrook School Department today to share the joy of reading and celebrate literacy with students!

Last Thursday, we had an amazing turnout for our Family Literacy Night! We had a local author and illustrator come and read to our cougars, there were many activities for students and families to bring home to promote literacy, and there were amazing read alouds from teachers and district admin!

Our first night of Game Club for our 3rd and 4th graders will be taking place today after school from 3:30-4:30pm!
Our kindergarten cougars went to the Festival of Trees on Monday! Students got to explore all of the trees, enjoy a special snack provided by our PTO, and they got to listen to a reading of The Gingerbread Man with Dr. Lancia!
The Altrusa Club visited Congin’s Kindergarteners on Friday! This program donates a beautiful brand new book to kindergarten students each year! We love this yearly tradition!
