We are pleased to announce the appointment of several new School and School Department leaders.
At Westbrook High School, there has been an administrative restructuring. Jeff Guerette has been named Principal. Mr. Guerette has worked at WHS since 2004 as a social studies teacher, math teacher and department leader, coach and head coach, and for seven years as Co-Principal. Mr. Guerette is a graduate of Colby College, earned a Master's degree in School Leadership at the University of Southern Maine and is a Doctoral candidate at the University of Maine. Patrick Colgan has been named Assistant Principal. He has worked at WHS since 2012 as a Latin teacher and Modern and Classical Language Department Leader, coach, and for six years as Co-Principal. He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and is completing a Master's degree in School Leadership at USM. Cari Sbardella has also been named Assistant Principal. A WHS alumnae, she has worked at the high school for 34 years as an English teacher, English Department Leader, RTI Coordinator, Class Advisor, and in 2025-26 as Co-Principal. She is a graduate of USM and is completing a Master's degree in School Leadership, also at USM. What an amazing team to provide outstanding, innovative leadership and guide our students, staff, and school into the future.
At Westbrook Middle School, Tyler Pelletier has been named Assistant Principal. He has been a fifth grade teacher at South Portland Middle School and previously as a fourth grade teacher in Lewiston. He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Machias and earned a Master's Degree at USM. Mr. Pelletier joins Principal Dr. Christina Boursaw and Assistant Principal Pattie DiMaria in leading our amazing Middle School.
Our new Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning is Bethany Connolly. Mrs. Connolly was principal at Skillin Elementary School in South Portland for the past nine years and previously taught eighth grade and served as the instructional strategist and Assistant Principal at Lincoln Middle School in Portland. She is a graduate of Assumption College, earned a Master's Degree in Teaching at Rhode Island College, and earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Leadership at USM. Mrs. Connolly will join Dr. Lancia and the Leadership Team in supporting all students, staff, and schools across the district.
