SAFETY & SECURITY
The Westbrook School Department prioritizes the safety and security of our students, staff, and facilities.
The school department's full Emergency Response Plan is confidential and not shared publicly for security reasons. However, information about our procedures in an emergency are described below.
We follow the Standard Response Protocol procedures throughout the district. Click HERE for a brief overview of the protocols. Signs (attached below) are posted in classrooms and public spaces in multiple languages to assist students and staff in following procedures. We practice these protocols regularly with the support of the Westbrook Police Department and Fire Department.
In addition, all exterior doors are locked throughout the school day. Visitors must access buildings through the main door, be greeted and have the door opened by office staff. Visitors must sign in at the main office and may only go to places they have indicated (such as a classroom to volunteer or to a conference room for a meeting.)
Heath information is kept by the School Nurse at each building and is shared only with staff who work directly with a child. Please keep health information up to date.
Students are only released during the school day to adults who are authorized in advance and recorded in Infinite Campus database. PLEASE KEEP EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION CURRENT.
