Welcome to Westbrook Middle School!

We are located in Southern Maine and have approximately 750 students in grades 5-8 and over seventy professional educators in our school that was built in 2010. Our students come from a wide variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. More than fifteen languages are spoken in the homes of our students. Our diversity is valued by everyone at Westbrook Middle School. We are excited to provide our young adolescents with a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment in our new state-of-the art facility.

We believe in educating the whole child. All of our students in grades 6-8 are on academic teams to address their social and emotional needs as well as emphasize interdisciplinary and parallel content. Each grade has its own school counselor throughout middle school who works hard to put students in a learning environment that meets their educational, emotional and social needs.

We believe a strong sense of belonging and caring among all students and adults in our school is crucial to engaging and motivating everyone to learn. Our identity and our work is framed by relationships. Every adult in our school is important, every student matters. We use our relationships with students, parents and the community to make connections among people, places, resources and ideas as the foundation for powerful achievement and excellence.
