I am pleased to announce that the 8th grade Concert Band attended the Maine Band Directors Association Concert Band Festival last Wednesday after school and earned a “Superior” rating with a total score of 95 (including a perfect score in sight reading)!
This class of students is the one that we had to start online through Google Meet sessions when they were in 5th grade, and when first instrument assembly lessons in person were no contact and 6ft or more apart. When they finally came back to school for lessons, we were separated and masked. This is a true testament to the students' hard work, team work, persistence, resilience, and goal setting, and we are so proud!
If you want to hear the band, they will be performing at their spring concert on Tuesday, April 2nd and for our culture celebration week after April break.
