WHS Mock Election

Yesterday, the WHS Social Studies Department organized a Mock Election to coincide with the national midterm election. Students checked in at the registration desk, where they provided their names and were given ballots to take to the voting booths. As mock elections go, this was an epic one. Check out the pictures to appreciate how truly authentic the experience was. Typically, mock elections are accurate predictors of results from the actual vote, and yesterday seemed to be no different. Our students were predictive of the governor's race, the District 1 congressional seat, and several of the other races and issues. What an incredible opportunity for our students to learn about democracy in action and practice participating in their single most important civic duty - voting! Thank you to our amazing Social Studies teachers for creating this experience!
