The official numbers for the Bottles and Cans Club for the year are in. Ms. Wescott was fired up to share the good news. In her words…
"With the help of my student club members, a super generous donor (shout out to Ms. Sbardella for the connection), WHS staff who consistently ask for Clynk Tags to bolster our account, and some locals who just like to make last minute donations… our total amount donated back to WHS students will be… DRUMROLLLLL PLEASE!!!! $3,600!!! That will be 60 students and families that receive a $60 gift card to Hannaford to help bridge the gap of food insecurity over our 2 week winter break this year. Just another thing to celebrate our students CRUSHING! I know my group of helpers is so excited to share their hard earnings with their peers!"
This amount of charitable giving eclipses the previous high water mark by more than double the amount. It is a truly magical year!
