Larry Dyrhberg, a local author and historian, will be holding a reading and discussion of his latest book, Sutton Tales, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Westbrook High School Library.

Sutton Tales follows two main characters in the fictional mill town of Sutton from the 1920s through 1960s, exploring life in a small Maine community and the larger politics and history of influence. You might recognize the City of Westbrook in many of the references in this novel.

Dyhrberg joined the University of Southern Maine’s fiction workshop through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Having attended the workshop for eight years, Dyhrberg not only wrote most of his book with the group but is now also a co-facilitator.

Larry is a retired Westbrook High School social studies teacher, who taught here for 33 years, has Peace Corp experience, and has a lifelong curiosity for learning.
