WHS Mural

Wall art within the building has begun to be more common in recent years. Currently students are hard at work in a few different locations throughout the school. At the top of the central staircase, a WHS sophomore artists (one is pictured) are finishing up a surrealist landscape painting. Not only does public art elevate and beautify our spaces, it also provokes thought and an exchange of ideas. This piece in particular will no doubt spur discussion around climate change and endangered species.

Our incredibly talented and dedicated Art teachers – Matt Johnson, Yagmur Gunel, and Charlotte Caron – are fostering a love of art and design, and they are also cultivating a physical space that is visually stimulating and inviting. Bravo! Next time you get a chance to walk the halls, check out what’s new! There are some amazing young artists leaving their mark.
