We are so incredibly proud of the students in our newest workforce training program, Common Threads at WAE!! These student have not only successfully made it through the intense training involved, they have also paved the way for future students in the program! Graduating students in this class will have opportunities to be employed by Maine companies like L.L. Bean, American Roots, Maine Flag Company and many more, while other students plan to become entrepreneurs by starting their own alterations and clothing design companies! One of our graduates is also currently making costumes for the Portland Stage Company for their upcoming production of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe"!

Bringing this program to Westbrook Adult Education has been so exciting, but the success of it would not have been possible without instructor, Apphia Mpay, who led the charge the whole way with her business mind, creative genius and work ethic. She works magic with our students and they all adore and respect her greatly. We are so lucky to have her on our team and we thank Dory Waxman for introducing us to her and passing the Common Threads torch to us! What a fun and beautiful ride this has been!!

Thank you to the Westbrook School Committee for joining us for the graduation celebration, too! It meant so much to our students to meet with you and share their experiences!
