On Friday, representatives from the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services, as well as Maine's Full Plates Full Potential, visited Saccarappa to celebrate the end of National School Breakfast Week. The representatives distributed breakfast to the students and were able to see the direct impact of universal free meals within schools.
Maine's support of free breakfast and lunch for all students is helping to alleviate food insecurity and remove the barriers that had previously hindered a student's access to food.
