Reading Across the World

During the month of March, Saccarappa teachers and students will be reading books that reflect various cultures around the world. After reading a book, grade levels will mark the country represented on an interactive world map in the hallway.

Parents and guardians are invited to join in on this event by reading to their child’s class. Bring in a
picture book to share that represents your family in some way. The book can depict your family’s
culture, tell about something your family enjoys doing, or be a favorite book your family likes to read together!

All guest readers who enter the building must be approved volunteers with the Westbrook School
Department. Volunteer application packets can be printed off the district website, or contact
Saccarappa’s office at 207-854-0847 for a paper copy. Parents and guardians are also welcome to read via Google Meet without volunteer approval or if it works better for your schedule.
Guest readers will be scheduled throughout the month of March. Please contact your child’s classroom teacher if you are interested in participating.

Thank you for helping foster our students’ love of reading while highlighting the diversity that makes Westbrook a beautiful place to live and learn.
