Cougar

Good Morning Congin Cougar Families,

Welcome back from April break! Since coming back this week, our cougars are getting settled back into the routine of school and they are doing a great job! Here are some updates for this week:

-It is Wednesday, so it is an early release day! Students will be dismissed starting at 2:30pm.

-We are continuing our work on Inclusion for this month. This will be our last full week of working on inclusion, and next Wednesday will be having an assembly to roll out our new theme of creativity.

-It is the season for field trips! Our College Knowledge Team will be going on a field trip on Thursday to visit Southern Maine Community College!

-4th graders will be going to Fort Western on Monday, May 5th!

-1st and 2nd grade students will be attending a presentation from the Portland Symphony Orchestra next Monday at Congin! Students will get to know more about orchestral instruments in a fun interactive way.

-Author Francie LaTour will be coming to Congin next Thursday to do a presentation for our 3rd and 4th graders where she will be discussing her writing and her books! That same evening, there will be an Education Extravaganza at Westbrook Middle School from 5pm-7pm. Come learn some new games, and get to meet Author Francie LaTour!

-Don't forget that we are participating in the Hannaford Helps Schools fundraiser! Everytime you purchase 4 participating products, you will get 3 school dollars in the form of a coupon. On the coupon there is a QR code. Scan the QR code and select Congin School. This will be happening until June 7th!

-Our plant sale will be happening on Saturday May 17th at Congin School from 10am-12pm. This is always a wonderful fundraiser put on by our PTO, so come to find some new plants all while supporting the staff and students at Congin!

-Please remember that the bus loop in the front of the school is ONLY for buses. If you are dropping off your child by car, please loop around to left of the building and drop off your child in the back of the building. If you are at school after 8:40, your child will be considered tardy and you will need to drop them off in the front. Thank you for your attention to this.

-It's a great day to be a cougar!

Sincerely,

Marc Bisson
