On September 25, Westbrook Athletics had the honor of dedicating the new Olmsted Field scoreboard in recognition of Eugene "Gene" Waters, Westbrook High School Class of 1955.
We were privileged to welcome Art Girard, his family, and the family of Gene Waters for a special evening of reflection, gratitude, and connection. Hearing firsthand about the character, accomplishments, and values that defined Gene's life made it clear why this recognition is so well deserved.
The evening was also an opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to Art Girard for his continued generosity and unwavering commitment to preserving Westbrook's history while investing in its future. Art understands the importance of community pride, honoring those who came before us, and creating lasting opportunities for future generations of Blue Blazes.
