Computer Systems & Networking

Our two-year program offers motivated students the opportunity to develop skills in the challenging and rewarding field of computer systems and network administration. Students enrolled in this program will be concurrently enrolled in Cisco Networking Academy, which offers students opportunities in basic computer network troubleshooting and design.  The Computer Systems & Networking program will prepare students for either an entry-level IT job or an array of post-secondary educational opportunities.

First-year student learning includes disassembly, reassembly, and configuration of computer systems and basic network installations.  Students will have access to the blended-learning platform provided by Cisco Networking Academy to supplement networking labs, direct instruction, and readings. Students will be introduced to the mathematics of computers, including binary, hexadecimal, octal number system arithmetic, boolean algebra, and truth tables.

Second-year students will study advanced topics including Computer and Network Cyber Security, and Linux operating systems.  Students will be encouraged to sit for the CompTIA A+, PC Pro certifications, or Cisco Networking Academy achievement certificates.

*This program accepts students in grades 10-12*
