Blazes Nation! We are on to Quarter 2, and headed towards the halfway mark of the year! There is no school Wednesday, November 11th as we honor our Veterans with the celebration of Veterans Day. Thank you to all who have served.
There have been many exciting opportunities for students since my last update. We had an excellent field trip to UMaine thanks to our partnership with MELMAC. We had 40 students tour campus, see classes and eat in dining halls. We will offer a similar trip next week to UNH, again thanks to MELMAC.
Last week, a small but mighty group of 8 JMG students attended the Maine Youth Leadership Day at the Hyde School in Bath. They had the opportunity to hear from Paralympic Bronze Medalist (and Mainer) Clara Brown, in addition to participating in several workshops.
Today, our EDU 100 class hopped on the Metro "Husky Line" and took a trip to USM to sit in on classes and tour the campus.
Finally, Sculpture and Art 3 classes are headed to MECA to attend the Adventures of Art field trip at Maine College of Art and Design.
A huge thank-you to all of our partners who have supported these trips.
As we begin Quarter 2, I would ask for support from families on two items. The first is that school starts every morning at 7:50. Please, please, please encourage your students to be on time! And secondly, we are a personal electronic device free school this year per state law and school policy. Please remind your students to be mindful of what technology they bring and access at school. Thank you! Go Blue!
