Personal Leave

Administrators & Teachers Personal Leave

Personal leave shall be used for personal matters which would involve considerable hardship if not handled during school hours.  Each member of the professional staff shall be allowed three (3) personal days per year with pay provided the teacher informs her / his building principal of this day by logging into AESOP and requesting a personal day at least 5 calendar days prior thereto, except in emergencies.  Each request shall require final approval by the Superintendent of Schools and/or designee.


Support Staff Personal Leave

Personal leave shall be used for personal matters which would involve considerable hardship if not handled during school hours.  Each member of the support staff shall be allowed three (3) personal days per year with pay provided the support staff employee informs her / his building principal  or immediate supervisor of this day by logging into AESOP and requesting a personal day at least 1 week prior thereto, except in emergencies.  Each request shall require final approval by the Superintendent of Schools and/or designee. 


School Year - Support Staff Request for Time Off Without Pay

School Year - support staff employees may also be eligible for five (5) unpaid days by logging into AESOP and requesting up to five (5) unpaid days per school year.  The request will need approval of the school year - support staff's immediate supervisor with final approval by the Superintendent of Schools and/or designee. These five unpaid days may be requested and, if approved, may be utilized non-consecutively over the course of the school year.  All requests received prior to September 30th of the year will be considered on a seniority basis.  All requests received after September 30th will be considered on a first in with no consideration for seniority.  Employees who receive more than 1 week of paid vacation per year will not be allowed to take unpaid vacation days as outlined in this provision.
